Welcome to my children's storytelling podcast.

My name is Kathleen T. Pelley, and I am a picture book author, storyteller, and speaker.

I was born in Glasgow, Scotland, a country famous for its heather-dappled mountains, lochs, tartan, shaggy highland cattle, soggy summer days, and of course - a veritable treasure chest of stories.

My own passion for stories stemmed before I could even read or write, by listening to them on the radio during the BBC Children's Story Hour.  It was there that I fell in love with the music of our language and the magic of stories.

I hope you will find some stories here to enchant your children into the marvelous world of STORY!

You can learn more about my podcast on the ABOUT page.

A fun Eastern European Folktale about a very clever girl who uses her talent for solving tricky riddles to win the heart of the mayor and eventually to earn his love and respect.  (duration 15 minutes)

Thanks to all our great listeners for your loyalty as we reach our 100th episode on August 27th.  We cannot wait to celebrate with you and would not be here without your support.

To celebrate this 100the episode, we will be hosting a contest!  You can enter our contest for a chance to win the grand prize of 3 signed copies of my published picture books, plus a shout-out on an upcoming episode, as well as some other fun Journey with Story prizes.

There are two ways to enter:

1. Leave a review on iTunes.  Please email me with your apple ID and iTunes Country Store at ktpelley@outlook.com. Each review will qualify as 2 entries into the contest.

2. Follow me on Facebook or Instagram @journeywithstory and send your child's drawing of his or her favorite episode.  Each drawing will qualify as 1 entry into the contest.

The deadline for entering is August 20th and we will announce the winners on August 27th.

Also, as part of our celebration, I will be doing a live reading of one of my published picture books on Instagram on August 27th a noon (mountain time). Which book?  You will have to wait and see - hint - it fits our theme of 100 episodes!
